Tyler Barth received his MS in Computer Science (specialization Artificial Intelligence) from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia and his B.S in Electrical Engineering (specialization Computer Engineering) from Rice University (Brown College, cum laude) in Houston, Texas. He has been a visiting researcher at RIKEN in Wako, Japan, and he studied Mandarin Chinese in the International Chinese Language Program at National Taiwan University in Taipei. Prior to joining HLTC, he participated in an engineering exchange program between Rice and HKUST as an undergraduate.

Research interests

Statistical natural language processing; machine translation; language acquisition; information retrieval; parsing; Intelligent Computed Aided Language Learning; use of NLP in language education; human-computer interaction; software usability
