There are many interesting planning problems in the context of information
integration, ranging from general issues such as query planning and
planning for information gathering to specific applications such as travel
planning. Unfortunately, few of these problems fit the standard mold for

on this experience, I will present my views on how the planning community should
broaden its definition of planning to encompass a wider variety of planning
tasks.
