Abstract

I will present a model developed in my Masters Thesis work, that uses large-scale and bilingual corpora to build bilingual semantic lexicons automatically. The model employs word alignment and word frequency statistics. It also uses HowNet and WordNet semantic resources, plus Chinese and English word similarity computation methods. I will propose some strategies and algorithms to build bilingual semantic lexicons automatically. Two semantic lexicons with rich word senses, translations and statistical information were built and evaluated.
