Added an animation by Malcolm Banthorpe, downloadable from the user gallery. Sorry, but yes, our free forum (so did the free blogback system) was gone. If you have any suggestion for a free forum, let me know.

Thanks for those who wrote comments for the last headline. As a result, a forum is set up for users to get help and share information. :)

Updated the quick doc 'glTIP.txt' (included in the download) with a note about output size: the output movie size is the same as what is rendered in the 3D scene window of glTIP, and the only way to change the output size is to resize the main window before you go to the output step. Sorry guys for the inconvenience. And I'd also like to let you know that currently I have no plan to create a new version of glTIP. If enough of you ask for it, maybe we can reconsider that. ;-) You can give your public comments regarding this using the comment link that follows this headline.

Added in the download page a link to an article (in Chinese) reporting our first exhibition back in 1999. Updated the quick doc with the solution to the error 'invalid numerical Input', and the executable so that the about box shows 'alpha 0.9a' as stated in the download page. Also fixed some link errors.

13/5/2003

Added a pdf in the download page showing some production images for the video by David and Anvar.

13/4/2003

Added a user gallery in the download page, the first entry being a short made by David Almstrom and Anvar Arteaga from Sweden.

If you experience an error of 'invalid numerical Input', it's probably because the language setting of your Windows system uses ',' instead of a '.' for denoting the decimal point. To fix that, you can replace all ',' by '.' in the plain text .tip and .cam files, or just change your language setting.

Thanks to those who sent me email regarding glTIP. Because of your emails, I know there are still people interested in our software. ;) I have always wanted to rewrite glTIP using GLScene and Graphics32, two excellent graphics library. However, I have another project which is more important in my hands, and I'm not sure when can I have time to rewrite glTIP....

Thanks to the web tracker I use for my site, I know there are students from other universities or institutes worked on Tour Into the Picture projects, e.g. this one (they're linking to my site).

Added an animation made from a painting by Chen Pei Qui, a Chinese painting master from Shanghai, China. She visited our university from October to December 2001. I also added the credits for the animations. See them in the Download page.

Finally put up the animations that we made in 1999. Downloadable from the Download page.

21/9/2000

Added 3 more sample projects in download page. No sample AVI for the projects this time. Link to the multi-perspective TIP animation is added in the download page too. Enjoy! ;-)

17/8/2000

Downlaod page updated. You will find a "more stable" version of glTIP + a quick doc on how to use it. A sample project is also downloadable.

3/2/2000

The "TIP showcase" presentation is finally up on the plasma display installed in the CS Department administration office. If you happen to be a UST student, pay a visit there! Any comments, suggestions, complaints are welcome.
