bullet WAIM Conference Scope

    Database research and development has been remarkably successful over its 30-year history. Now the field is facing new challenges posted by the rapid advances of hardware technology, the penetration of the Web and Internet to everyone's daily life, and the changes of the economical and financial environment where database systems are used. In addition to be able to efficiently manage large volume of data as a passive repository in own organizations, the ability of managing data in the cyberspace, extracting relevant information, and discovering knowledge to support decision making is critical to the success of any organization. WAIM will provide researchers and practitioners with a forum to share their experiences in tackling problems in managing and using data, information and knowledge in the age of the Internet and Web and to identify new issues and directions for research and development work in the new millennium.
