Mathematical Graphics Gerhard Trippen Department of Computer Science HKUST October 24, 2003 11-11:50 AM Room 3501, HKUST Abstract -------- The problem: How to produce mathematical images? The solutions: There are several tools to produce mathematical graphics. We will take a closer - though short - look at two of them: PostScript and Java. Included in the talk are also the presentations of two projects. Those were done during the MSRI Summer School "Mathematical Graphics" in Reed College, Portland, OR, July 13 - July 26, 2003. Proposition 2 of Book XII of Euclid's Elements, Julie Tzu Chung, University of California at Irvine. (An example for animations in PostScript.) Playing with triangulations, GT, HKUST (implemented in Java.)
