A Survey on Automatic Test Generation and Crash Reproduction

PhD Qualifying Examination

Title: "A Survey on Automatic Test Generation and Crash Reproduction"

by

Mr. Ning CHEN

Abstract:

In software development, software testing is a difficult but important
part of the software development process. However, manual test case
writing is labor intensive. Thus, many automatic test generation
approaches have been proposed. Similarly, software crash reproduction is
also an important step in the software development and maintenance
processes. In this survey, I will investigate the state-of-the-art
approaches in these two areas and try to identify challenges for these
approaches. At the end of the survey, I will also introduce my recent
research topics that aim to address some of the major challenges in
automatic test generation and automatic crash reproduction.
