CSE Programming Team Won the Championship in ACM-HK Programming Contest 2022

The Champion Team, HKUST1, comprised of Kaichen ZHANG, Long Hin Vincent CHIU and Morsi Mohamed SOBHY, which is led by Dr. Qifeng CHEN has solved the most problems the fastest within the time limit.

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) sponsors regional and international collegiate programming contests every year. The top two or three teams in 16 different regions will qualify for the international contest. The ACM Hong Kong Chapter has been organizing a local contest in Hong Kong since 1991, following the aims, format and style of ACM contests.

The contest this year is held on 26 June at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. There were 17 teams from 8 different institutes participated in the contest. Each team was assigned seven programming problems and they are required to solve as many problems as possible within the time limit by combining a variety of algorithmic techniques with quick-and-dirty programming tricks. The team who solves the most problems the fastest will be the champion. After a four-hour competition, the CSE Programming Team, HKUST1, won the championship in the end.

Congratulations to Dr. CHEN, Kaichen, Long Hin and Mohamed!
